Once your eligibility for Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA) is confirmed, you will meet with a Needs Assessor. This meeting can be conducted either in person, locally, or online. The Needs Assessor will help identify the support that could be beneficial for you.
Key Points About the Needs Assessment:
It’s Not a Test: The assessment is not a test. Instead, the assessor will review your degree requirements and discuss the support you may need due to your disability. They will provide recommendations based on your needs, but you are not obligated to accept all of their suggestions.
Review the Report: After the assessment, the assessor will draft a report outlining their recommendations. You will have the opportunity to review this report before it is sent to your funding body.
- Sharing the Report: If you’re comfortable, please give permission for the assessor to share the report with OCA. You can ask them to email it to learnersupport@oca.ac.uk. This will help us understand the recommendations and any support needs identified.
